Description
You are bidding on a 100 ft long by 24 inches wide sleeve of Marvelseal 1311B MIL-PRF-131K barrier material. The photo shows 12 inches but it's the same material except it's 24 inches X 100 ft. This material was designed for the military for storage [long or short term] and for shipping. It is used for those applications where a high strength heat-sealable, flexible, water vapor proof, grease proof barrier materials having low water vapor transmission characteristics for use such as in military packaging. You can heat seal the ends with an iron and you have a storage or shipping bag that is so strong that you must use a knife to open it. I use this for storage of food, ammuniton and it works great! It is rated for up to 60psi of pressure and up to 500F of heat and it is oil and grease proof as well as water proof. There is no commercial product equivalent to this material. If you Google “Mil-PRF-131K CLASS 3” you can get the entire mil spec. If you are interested in larger quantities or in wider rolls I have that too. MIL-PRF-131; Class 3 –Scrim backing (woven fabric) seam strength and fabrication; water vapor transmission rate; breaking strength; puncture, blocking and curl resistance; contact corrosivity; delamination; and water resistance of markings provide the necessary requirements for protection from exposure to the extremes of the navy/naval aviation environment. Navy/naval aviation items are exposed to high moisture, high salt concentration, transfer at sea, rough handling, and minimal storage conditions. There are no commercial equivalents that meet the physical, mechanical, and corrosion requirements necessary to protect materiel that is exposed to the operational naval aviation environment. Class 3 (specialized use). Class 3 is similar to Class 1 but is used for those applications where a higher strength heat-sealable, flexible, watervaporproof, greaseproof barrier material is required. Total weight for 100 ft. is 17lbs.
