Description
The Fire Beater Cradle According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) of Quincy, MA, fires caused by fallen cigarettes are the leading cause of home-fire-deaths and third leading cause of civilian injuries. The Fire Beater Cradle, with it’s unique and patented safety angle does not allow an ignited cigarette to fall off and become the source of a potentially deadly fire. There are roughly 45 million smoking households in North America. Each one of these households will suffer at least one of property damage, personal injury, or loss of life by using conventional ashtrays. The majority of these fires occur between midnight and 6:00 am, when household members are asleep. Cigarettes that have fallen onto or into combustible household furniture can smoulder for hours before reaching a point of ‘flash over’. Usually the whole household perishes while asleep. The US patent (#Des 430,701), a four cavity mold, a website (www.firebeater.com) and a Canadian Patent are available for purchase as a package. The four cavity mould can produce roughly 50,000 units per month. The website needs to have PayPal integrated into the ‘back-end’ to replace the former payment gateway (Worldpay) to make it a complete and functional e-commerce site. Market evaluation reports and feasibility studies have been conducted. It has been determined that the ultimate method of marketing the product would be through a 60 second short form infomercial showing the Fire Beater Cradle and conventional ashtrays holding the ignited cigarettes. With the use of time-lapse photography, the consumer will see the cigarettes fall off of the conventional ashtrays and be ‘held’ by the Fire Beater Cradle. This will educate the consumer on the origin of these fires (fallen cigarettes = ashtrays fault) and not (carelessly discarded cigarettes = smokers fault).
