Torchmate has been producing shape cutting machines for 25 years. This machine uses a precision industrial linear motion assembly for its Y (cross) axis, and close tolerance cold roll steel rails on its X axis. The X axis is powered on both sides via a 3/4" diameter driveshaft, using a 3.4:1 timing belt/pulley reduction. This results in a whopping 459 oz. in. of torque to the rack and pinion drive trains of both axes, with no backlash. The machine is constructed of heavy wall extruded aluminum, and can easily be broken down into sub-assemblies for relocation. You supply your own plasma cutter & torch, and computer. Either a machine torch or manual torch can be used.
