You still have to change the pressure level manually, by turning the pressure knob, but everytime you change it, the press will give you a new numerical readout. This way, a person can adjust the pressure from a 2 to a 3 or a 4, depending on what type of garment they are printing on and what type of graphic they are applying. Thicker Platens All Hotronix presses have platens that are ¾" thick. In addition to superior heat retention, this also prevents application mistakes when you switch from printing a thin t-shirt to a heavy weight fleece sweatshirt. The thickness of your garment can easily make the pressure readout change several numbers. Most people don't realize this and don't make the adjustment in the press when switching garment types. Applying a certain type of transfer at too heavy of a pressure can drive the adhesive through the garment or ruin the look of the top layer altogether. Incorrect pressure has also been known to ruin sublimation or ink jet transfers as well. Automatic Open This helpful feature uses electronic magnetic technology to open the press automatically when an item is done, allowing you to walk away from the unit and do other things - such as loading a second unit - instead of standing by idly, waiting for it to finish.
