Description
Silk Screen Exposure Lamp 1000W Halogen NOTE: Foam block is now supplied in charcoal grey as standard. Apologies for old photo... A Silk Screen Exposure Lamp unit especially designed for the smaller volume silk screen printer. This unit is used to expose sensitised photo-emulsion coated silk screens (silk, nylon or polyester etc.). The unit comprises of two 500 watt Tungsten Halogen flood lights mounted on a high quality aluminium frame with a large base board. A generous size block of foam is also included for placing below the screens. Designed for studio users including artists, T-Shirt printers, potters (decal printing), card makers etc. It is ideal for smaller screens, for exposing 'positive' artwork produced on acetate sheets using a home computer printer (laser or inkjet). It is also big enough to accomodate a fairly large screen frame size of up to 29" x 24" (the 29" is maximum but the 24" can be extended beyond the base if required.). Supplied ready for use, all that you need to start exposing is a sheet of glass to cover your acetate artwork sheets. The sheet of glass should have smooth rounded corners to protect the screen. You will be able to obtain this from a local glass supplier at very modest cost (less than £10). (We don't supply the glass because of the high risk of breakage in transit). Guaranteed against defective materials / workmanship for 6 months (not including bulbs, fuses or fair wear and tear). Refund, repair or replacement at manufacturers discretion. Full instructions for use included. Requires very little assembly, 90% assembled in box Includes a non-reflective black coated base board Includes full size foam block for screen support. Now supplied in charcoal grey as standard. Bulbs included. Bulbs are long lasting (up to 2000 hours) and robust. Spare bulbs are very cheap and easy to fit. The light emitted is safe so does not need enclosing. Longer screens can be exposed using 2 or more units in a row. Fitted with 2 metres of industrial 'arctic' cable. Supplied with a 5 Amp fused tough black 3 pin plug. Fitted with switch. Mounted on 6 non-slip rubber feet. Strong aluminium frame will not rust. Light-weight so easy to move. Sent in a strong custom made box for safe delivery. NOTE - Appearance may differ slightly from unit illustrated (e.g. yellow cable rather than blue etc.) but item will be exact same specification. We are the manufacturer of this item. The RRP of these units is £149.95 each but they are offered here at a huge discount. Replacement bulbs and all other spare parts (including longer leads, smaller foam blocks etc.) are always available. Due to high demand there may be a delay of up to 7 days during busy periods before sending out your order, we will do our best to minimise this delay and we apologise for any inconvenience. If this delay is unacceptable please do not bid. Thank you for your patience. Please include your telephone number with all orders (for the courier company). The ASSEL500X2 Silk Screen Exposure Lamp unit has many advantages over traditional exposure lamps Less bulky because does not need enclosure box Designed for the small business, home user, artist or desktop publisher. Ideal size for A3 or A4 artwork printed from a PC inkjet or laser printer on clear acetate sheets. Extremely cheap in comparison to the alternatives of Mercury vapour lamps, carbon arc lamps, UV or Metal Halide lamps. (e.g. Metal Halide bulbs cost over £150 each and have limited life). The light emitted from this exposure lamp is safe - it does NOT produce harmful UV radiation and so does not need to be shielded. We sell lots of these units to schools and colleges. Some traders on ebay have actually suggested that a single light is better than 2 lights. This is absolute nonsense, anyone with even a small amount of knowledge will know that spreading the light source across a wider area ensures sharper definition of artwork edges and also ensures an even exposure across the whole of the artwork. A single light will be stronger at the centre and weaker at the perimeter, and cause shadow on edges of artwork. The Dissadvantages ? The Halogen lamps do get very hot and should not be operated for very long periods, but this will not effect normal use. For more information about these exposure lamps you can now view the following PDF file (350 KB). View File . This is a copy of the assembly and use instructions which are included with the unit which should answer many of the questions you might have.
