Description
Patent # 7,381,878 - Musical Instrument Display. "The Guitar Teacher" is a computerized guitar that does exactly that... it teaches you how to play. Chords, Scales and Songs can all be learned with a higher level of mental absorption. A computer inside the body of the guitar feeds a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) panel that is built into (and visible through) the guitar's high density polymer (plexiglas) fretboard. The system is set-up on the methodology of guitar tablature. The numbers 1 through 4 correspond to the four fingers on the fret hand starting with the index finger. The student enters a chord, scale or song and the fretboard lights up displaying the proper finger placement and the color coded note name of that position. The student then simply places their fingers on the cooresponding positions on the fretboard and strum or pick as designated by the unused portion of the display. This system allows for practically endless flexibility and possibilities with regard to what is taught and how it is taught based on the method by which it is displayed. The system will require proprietary software and programming. Please see details at: http://www.google.com/patents?id=kkCqAAAAEBAJ&dq=7,381,878
