It's based on an ELMO ST200-DFV Digital Film Scanner that has been modified by S-T Imaging with special optics (48X zoom lens), a 2700DPI 35mm/microfilm scanner, a motorized film transport, and a Cabin light panel with a microfiche platen on top. All of this outputs to a variety of displays (NTSC composite, S-video, RGB & VGA) as well as a PC. Most of the functions are remote controllable with the included IR remote (great for presentations). The zoom lens has a remarkable 48X range that will display full screen from an entire microfiche down to an area smaller than a pencil eraser, making even the tiniest of microfilm text easily readable. It also works well with color and black & white 35mm negatives & positive slides. It has both auto & manual focus, adjustable iris & white balance. The machine is approximately 3 years old and could almost pass for new. It was surplused by a local university library that had converted over to a different system.
