This is a NO RESERVE auction so the high bidder will be the new owner regardless of price. I think Dain contracted with John Deere before Deere bought them out in the early 1900's so it's pretty old. It's pretty much complete and in nice shape considering it's age. New sickle blades were recently put on and also some other new parts on the 5' sickle section. I think there is supposed to be some wood on the end of the sickle bar which I don't have. Nice old mower that seems to work good. Engages and disengages as it should. All the original tin oil cap covers are intact and in good shape. No grease fittings - it's all oil type fittings oiled with an oil can. The oil can is included but doesn't work. Gearing shows some wear but not bad at all. Lugs on the steel wheels are a little rounded but again not too bad. Pole should be replaced. No major flaws. No visible cracks as far as I can tell.
