This is an unused coil of "Live Rubber" made to look like a bee hive by sitting over the cardboard cone. Has a 1941 Patent so pretty easy to date. The product was by Bridgeport Fabrics Inc., Bridgeport 1, Mass.. And the manufacturer and display design by Nuvopak, Cambridge, Mass.. Was probably out of production by 1942 as a result of the WW-II rubber rationing. The label is the die cut cardboard sign strip. Displays very nice. Amazingly, it's real rubber from a rubber plant and is still pliable after 65 years. The label strip is complete but has seperated. Easly repairable with archival tape; but display just fine as is. Seems as though this should be ia a Goodyear or Firestone tire shop somewhere. I'm not sure there's an oz of real rubber used in em anymore. Has to be quite a conversation piece somewhere. 7t x 7 1/2 dia.. I've listed some other great advertising this week including tobacco, beer, coffee, gas & oil, and nice old country store items.
