Please look at the overall photo of the machine, Notice that there are no fan belts connecting the motor to the mill, it's direct drive. No belts, no slipping, better power transmission. The power is routed through a rugged worm gear and bevel gear set (see picture). The gear shaft is supported for a set of angular contact roller bearings (see picture).  The entire drive assembly is an oil filled gearbox.  The housing is made from cast iron. This is simply the best way to build a machine. It will last for a very long time without parts wearing out. We ship the machine with a formula that's easy to work. It uses a type of grain to "condition" the die. (The die is the part of the machine that has holes in it that actually form the pellets as in the picture.)
