This tractor really speaks for itself. It was recently featured on the front cover of TractorShop magazine. I bought the tractor five or so years ago in its present condition. The tractor was used for parades, hay rides and has been to many local tractor shows. I hesitate to sell it, but we need the room for hay storage and I will not let this tractor sit outside. The Oliver 2255 had a Caterpillar 3208 installed at the factory. Earlier model had a 3150 Caterpillar, the later 3208 tractors are more desirable. Here are some specs and details: Original CAT 3208 V-8 Diesel engine. This engine will start quick in all temperatures, 15 degrees in Jan. it started right up. The Hydra-Power which is a 3 speed shift on the go part of the transmission works great in all three speeds. The transmission had a ticking noise in it, I had an Oliver mechanic look into it. We had to remove the engine, most of the transmission shafts and gears. He found two gears with teeth missing, and two shafts that were worn. We replaced $2,000.00 of gears, shafts, seals and bearings. The repair was done without cutting any corners. All new Hydraulic and gear oil was used. The rear tires are new 20.8x38 Firestone 23 degree Field and Roads. There is no fluid or ballast in the tires. The front tires are four rib in good condition. The three point and PTO work correctly. The serial # is: 248 819-705 This tractor is a head turner wherever it goes. As you are probably aware, these Oliver 2255's have become very popular in the last few years and are getting very hard to find.
