Description
Starline Antique Cast Iron Livestock Horse Cow Paddle Waterer This is a great piece; I cannot find anything like it on ebay or the Internet.  It was bought at an auction in the 1970's and it was really old then.  There is a chip off the right side that has always been there since I've had it.  I did find the patent information on the United States Patent and Trademark Office website, the patent was applied for in 1927 and it was patented in 1929.  Patent Number 1735536. There are a few more numberson the bottom, but I have had no luck finding them yet. I has worked, my dad had it hooked up to try to get the dogs to use it back when he bought it , but they could not get grasp the concept, I guess.  It is 10 inches across and weighs 12 pounds, it is a substantial piece of cast iron and an amazing piece.  As my name would indicate I am a former collector, or perhaps “in recovery” might be a better way to put it.  I come from a long line of collectors/horders and am trying to get just a little organized.  Anyway, I am slowly going through the collections of my parents, my husband’s parents, my stuff, my grand parents, and I am still always out there looking.  I just can’t help it. : ) Check out my other auctions for the strange and unusual. Most of the things in the collections are great, and interesting items that are languishing in boxes.  It’s an eclectic mix from years of going to auctions, and garage sales.  What I am hoping is to find nice homes for all of these interesting items.  I don’t know what most of this stuff is worth, so I generally start everything for $1.00 and let the market determine the value.  Shipping is always free to the lower 48 unless otherwise noted, so if an item starts higher than $1.00, that means that it’s heavy or large and the higher start price will help cover shipping.  I am starting this at 9.99, at 12 pounds, the shipping will be higher than usual but your final bid is always your final cost.
