Description
Here is a NEW 1.2 watt, 808nm infrared laser diode in a High Heat Load (P1) package. This was made by Spectra Diode Labs (SDL) which is now part of JDS Uniphase. It is model number SDL-2362-P1. This is brand new in the manufacturer's sealed package. We opened one to get pictures, but the winning bidder will receive a sealed package Specifications Package: P1 High Heat Load Package CW Output Power: 1.2 W Center Wavelength: 808 (±3) nm Spectral Width: 2 nm Slope Efficiency: 0.9 W/A typ FWHM beam divergence: 12 degrees parallel, 32 degrees perpendicular to junction Threshold Current: 400mA typ Operating Current: 1.6A typ Click here for the complete data sheet for the 2300 series from the JDSU web site. There are several different diodes in the 2300 family. Be sure to look at the 2360 section for the correct data for this part. The P1 package includes a photodiode for output power monitoring, a TEC for temperature control and a thermistor for temperature monitoring. These make excellent pump diodes for a DPSS laser system. 808nm works well for pumping Nd:YAG and Nd:YV04. With appropriate optics and crystals, you could get 100mW or more of 532nm green. These work well with the vanadate + KTP composite crystals made by Casix to produce 100 or more mW of green. This laser diode will fit some commercial 20-200mW DPSS laser systems including the popular Coherent Compass 532 -50 and -100 version so it might be just the replacement you need to repair a weak or dead DPSS laser system. Click here for instructions from Sam's Laser FAQ on how to replace the pump diode in your Compass 532 laser. WARNING! This laser diode is very sensitive to static electricity and even a tiny zap that you can't feel can instantly destroy this device or degrade it's performance. You should always use a static strap when handling static sensitive devices such as this. This laser diode must be attached to a heat sink if before it is powered. Failure to keep the diode cool will dramatically reduce it's operating lifetime and may permanently damage it. The output of this laser diode is nearly invisible. Don't let this fool you - it is powerful enough to set things on fire and can cause burns and permanent eye damage. You should always wear appropriate safety goggles when working with high power laser devices such as this. By bidding on this item you agree that you have read and understand the above warnings. This laser diode is tested working, but is sold as-is with no warranty.
