Description
This is an Idexx Lasercyte Hematology analyzer which I bought new in October 2005, was replaced for a new 2006 model in April 2006, and was updated with 2008 software May 2008. The unit is in great condition (like new), and is currently running at my veterinary hospital. This analyzer is produced and serviced by Idexx. I purchased the unit new for $19,500. The 2 year service contract which came with my purchase of the machine has expired. I would recommend that the new owner purchase a service contract with Idexx to install and maintain this machine (this usually runs around $269/quarter, approx. $1000/year). Idexx provides excellent support- both remote and on-site. If you are extremely computer saavy, you might be able to set up this unit but I wouldn't recommend it- Idexx has field technicians who will be happy to do this for you, ensuring that the unit is installed properly and working correctly. The unit includes the Idexx Vetlab computer, which can be integrated with both the Vettest and the Electrolyte analyzer. You would need to supply a printer. This analyzer uses special tubes for blood draw and analysis, available from both Idexx and many veterinary distributors. Cost of running a CBC is approx. $4.50. This unit can be shipped- but due to sensitivity of the Laser in shipping, I would prefer it be picked up- if necessary,I could deliver it if within a 60 mile radius of York, Maine. Due to the complexity and sensitive nature of this instrument, I will NOT accept returns. Please note that Idexx will replace/repair the unit if a service contract is purchased. I have spoken to Idexx about this and they are happy to sell a service contract on this unit to a new owner.
