Description
Chattillon balance beam scale with 600 lb capacity. You can buy a new scale with such 1/4 lb resolution and a 600 lb range for $300 but it is hard to place a deer carcass on a less than a 2'x2' platform. And I do not know of a "hanging scale" that can do this. If they do have even a 500 lb capacity, they have a 5 lb resolution. So this scale is still highly useful and it is the best in energy efficiency! It doesn't require batteries or AC power; GRAVITY is FREE. So in a remote barn or a deer camp, this is still a very useful scale. However, it is also a vintage model Type 205 that was used to weight meat carcuses. It was repl;aced by the 206 model in 1998, which sold for $1700 in 2002. The pics show the about 30 by 30" size x 3 in thick with the 10 in cresent wrench for dimensions reference. Pole mount side is 20" long. The slides are stainless steel, the rest is iron. Please note the 1/4 lb divisions in the second pic on the 50 lb slide. It rotates 180 degrees against the pole mount so that it can be placed out of the way when not in use. Slides have weight markings on both sides. The date of the last inspection by TX Agri Div was in 1982, so this scale is at least 26 yrs old. I don't think it will ever wear out. I used it for buckets of rocks and ores. Works great. Mount it high and use chain for height adjustments for bucket or hog tie your deer if they are too long. This does not have the "meat hook" of the original equipment. I will ship however you wish and pay for, ie., strapped to a pallet, or boxed in cardboard, but the item wt is 30 lb , plus sturdy packaging it might come to about 40 lb total, so I suggest UPS Grnd.
