RARE 1925 Honor Bilt Modern Homes Sears, Roebuck & Co. Mail Order House / Kit Home Catalog! Good Condition! Mail order kit homes - circa 1925!!!  This 1925 Sears Roebuck & Co. Catalog has fifty-eight "Honor Bilt" home plan offerings, along with Nine "Standard Bilt" and,  Seven "Simplex" designs. From 1908–1940, Sears, Roebuck and Company sold more than 100,000 homes through their mail-order Modern Homes program.  A few weeks after the customer selected a home and placed the order, two railway boxcars containing 30,000 pieces of house – everything from doorknobs and carved staircases to varnish and roof shingles – would arrive at the nearest train depot. This catalog also has a LOT of interesting information - including pictures of the factory and warehouse, color photos, a picture of EVERY home and list of parts, paints, accessories, etc., etc.  It's AMAZING!   Plans form homes from simple to multi-story - and the prices!  Also includes parts, stories on suppliers, Kit garages, Kit barns, lighting fixtures and so much more! CONDITION is good for 88 years old.  Back cover is missing - all pages but 49-50are included.  Someone tore out that page  - possibly it's the home they chose!   The last ten or so pages have a square shaped tear on the upper portion of the page - and those pages are brittle - but they are still intact.  Some general thumb wear and the spine is exposed - wrap cover has worn, but pages are tight.  Measures 8.5 x 11 approx. RARE FIND !!  Use it for identification of Sears Kit homes - perfect for the architectural student or construction historian.  Beautiful addition to ANY Americana Collection!
